Spice was worth more than its weight in gold until relatively recent times. Fortunately today you don't have to be royalty to be able to afford some of the more exotic spices. Fennel Seed
Fennel Seeds are oval, light brown and have a subtle, sweet anise-like flavour.
Nutmeg
Nutmeg is the seed of a tropical tree and has an aromatic, sweet, warm and rich flavour.
Caraway Seed
Caraway Seed has a warm, pungent, slightly bitter flavour with aniseed overtones.
Sesame Seed
Sesame is the nutty flavoured, normally cream coloured, oval seed of the fruit pod of a tropical tree.
